Winter Weather in Wisconsin, February 24, 2010
An upper level low crossing the Great Lakes region developed an associated surface low that moved over southern portions of Lake Michigan. Low level convergence combined with steep mid level lapse rates to produce persistent lake-effect bands of snow that moved south along the western shores of Lake Michigan.

An upper level low crossing the Great Lakes region developed an associated surface low that moved over southern portions of Lake Michigan. Low level convergence combined with steep mid level lapse rates to produce persistent lake-effect bands of snow that moved south along the western shores of Lake Michigan.
The lake-effect snow totaled 3 to 5 inches from Milwaukee County south through eastern portions of Racine and Kenosha counties. The highest amount reported was 4.5 inches in Kenosha...with 4.2 inches 4 miles southwest of Kenosha...and 4.0 inches in West Allis in Milwaukee County.
