FOR THE SOUTH DAKOTA PLAINS...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA AND
NORTHEASTERN WYOMING.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A POTENT UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING THUNDERSTORMS TO THE
AREA TODAY. THE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHEAST
WYOMING AND FAR WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND
PROGRESS EASTWARD INTO THE EVENING HOURS. SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS
MAY BECOME SEVERE WITH LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND HEAVY
RAIN. ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO
EARLY THIS EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE REGION ON THURSDAY BRINGING
WINDY CONDITIONS TO THE AREA. THE STRONGEST WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED
ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND EASTERN FOOT HILLS AND FAR NORTHWEST SOUTH
DAKOTA WHERE WESTERLY WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 60
MPH CAN BE EXPECTED. WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO
AROUND 50 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED ON THE REST OF THE SOUTH DAKOTA
PLAINS.
