The James River receded and went below flood stage at both Ashton and Columbia in August. The river remained above flood stage at Stratford throughout the month. Ashton went below flood stage on the 14th while Columbia went below flood stage on the 25th. A few roads along with some agricultural land remained flooded.

GUSTY WINDS. OVERNIGHT...CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS INCREASE ACROSS
THE NORTHERN HALF OF SOUTH DAKOTA...BUT THE THREAT FOR SEVERE
WEATHER APPEARS RATHER MINIMAL.
