Damaging Winds and Lightning Strike in North Carolina, June 14, 2010

Several trees were reported blown down in Lewisville along with downed power lines.

The local fire department reported trees and power lines down across Arcadia.

Davidson County dispatch reported trees down in Midway at Hickory Tree Road and Farm Brook Lane.

Numerous trees were reported blown down across Forsyth County. At the height of the storm 6500 customers were without power across the county.

Over 40 trees were reported blown down from near the Forsyth County line south to Lexington. One tree fell on a home at 209 Beethoven Avenue. Trees also fell on at least two vehicles.

A trained spotter reported a five foot diameter tree blown down across the road at the 700 block of Fairgrave Road south of Thomasville.

Guilford County dispatch reported trees down near 2317 Longdale Road in Greensboro.

Numerous trees were blown down from Trinity to Randleman and Asheboro. In Randlemand trees were blown down along Fairview Church Road. Several trees were blown down around Randleman as well as along Lucas Road in West Asheboro and across the north side of town.

Guilford County reported trees down along Quinlan Road.

Trees were reported blown down from the south side of Asheboro along Highway 134 south to near Seagrove. Tree were blown down across the roadway on the 1100 block of Burney Road near Seagrove.

A trained spotter reported a tree blown down through a residence on Painter Road near Highway 220 south of Ulah.

A trained spotter reported a residential fire due to lightning at 5184 Fairview Farm Road. Lightning struck a gas line igniting the fire.

Randolph County Emergency Services reported a tree down across the road at 4220 Highway 134.

A tree was blown down across the road at the 1100 block of Burney Road.

Numerous trees were blown down blocking several roads in and around Troy as well as across Montgomery County. Numerous water rescues were performed on Badin Lake due to the high wind capsizing boats.

Numerous trees and power lines were blown down from Albemarle to Oakboro. Several roads in the area were blocked due to downed trees and widespread power outages were reported.

Several trees were blown down around Ansonville blocking Hill Road and Mount Vernon Road.

Trees were blown down across Highway 55 at Turtle Point Road in Pinehurst.

Trees were blown down from near Ashley Heights to Raeford and locations south of Raeford. Large trees were blown down in the Raeford city limits. About eight trees were down blocking several roads from Raeford to the northwest portion of the county. Trees were also reported blown down south of Raeford just north of the Scotland County line.

A couple of trees were blown down in East Rockingham.
