.PREV DISCUSSION...
241 PM CDT

TS DOLLY REMAINS JUST BELOW HURRICANE STATUS...BUT SHOULD BECOME ONE
THIS EVENING OR LATER TONIGHT. CURRENT FORECASTS TAKE HER INTO THE
LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY WEDNESDAY MORNING...THEN WESTWARD INTO THE
SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAINS OF NORTHEAST MEXICO THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
ONE FEEDER BAND IS APPROACHING THE UPPER TEXAS COAST TODAY AND
SHOULD SLOWLY WORK NORTHWEST INTO OUR SOUTHERN COUNTIES WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. AS THIS FEATURE SPREADS MOISTURE INTO NORTH
TEXAS...THERE SHOULD BE A SECOND CHANCE FOR PRECIPITATION ON
THURSDAY. SOME STORMS COULD PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL SINCE THE AIR
MASS IS TROPICAL.

AFTERWARD AND ELSEWHERE...SUB-TROPICAL HIGH ALOFT REMAINS LOCKED
OVER THE CENTRAL ROCKIES FOR THIS FORECAST CYCLE. AFTER DOLLY
WEAKENS OVER MEXICO...THE HIGH WILL BEGIN TO RIDGE SOUTHEASTWARD
OVER NORTH TEXAS...BRINGING TEMPERATURES BACK TO NEAR CURRENT LEVELS
AND ENDING OUR CHANCE FOR ANY RAINFALL THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK.
THE OUTLOOK FOR A COLD FRONT TO ENTER NORTH TEXAS NEXT WEEK IS NOT
PROMISING...BUT IT COULD BACKDOOR INTO THE NORTHEAST COUNTIES
BRIEFLY AFTER MID NEXT WEEK. 75

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
241 PM CDT

ALTHOUGH A FEW LOCATIONS MAY RECEIVE A BRIEF SHOT OF BENEFICIAL
RAINFALL FROM DOLLY...THE REST OF NORTH TEXAS WILL REMAIN IN THE
GRIP OF DROUGHT...WHICH WILL LIKELY EXPAND FURTHER NORTHWARD THROUGH
THE END OF THE MONTH. SEVERE DROUGHT CONDITIONS MAY REACH THE I-20
CORRIDOR BEFORE AUGUST AND THE EXTREME DROUGHT CONDITIONS COULD
EXPAND INTO THE CENTRAL NORTH TEXAS COUNTIES. 75
