A strong upper level system crossing southern Lake Michigan allowed snow to spread into Southeast Michigan after 2 PM. |The snow intensified during the evening commute, causing very poor driving conditions. Widespread snow accumulations ranged from 2 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts, occurring in less than 9 hours.
