A band of lake effect snow showers set across portions of LaPorte county during the early morning hours of February 20th. While snow amounts were light, gusty winds caused brief white-out conditions along Interstate 94. This resulted in a pile up of more than 25 cars and semis on the west bound side. There were only 5 reported minor injuries from the pile up.

A pile up involving more than 25 vehicles occurred near Michigan City on the westbound side of Interstate 94. Five minor injuries were reported in the brief white out conditions caused by lake effect snow showers and gusty winds.
