Light freezing rain fell during the day on December 23rd, 2008. Minor ice accumulations occurred across Eastern Arkansas. This made roads hazardous to travel and many accidents occurred as a result. Two deaths occurred from traffic accidents.

As the offices recorded each death: direct deaths were caused by the weather itself, indirect ones by something it set in motion.
