There was only one day in August where the daily high temperature rose above 90 degrees at the Cavalier NDAWN station (8th), which was a pretty substantial difference from the hot month of July. Precipitation amounts were highly variable, but the NDAWN station at Cavalier reported 2.17 inches of rain for the month. The May through August precipitation total for the Cavalier NDAWN station was 6.89 inches. Normal amounts of rainfall for the May through August period range from 10 to 13 inches.Pembina county began the month in the D2 drought designation, but more widespread and persistent rainfall ended the D2 designation on the 8th.
