A wave of low pressure developed along a cold front during the morning of the 8th. As a result of the colder air filtering into the region behind the cold front, frozen precipitation occurred which comprised of a mixture of snow, sleet and pockets of light freezing rain.

A wave of low pressure developed along a cold front during the morning of the 8th. As a result of the colder air filtering into the region behind the cold front, frozen precipitation occurred which comprised of a mixture of snow, sleet and pockets of light freezing rain. The higher elevations saw more snow accumulation compared to elsewhere, with less than one tenth of an inch ice accumulation in Sussex County. The frozen precipitation tapered off during the early afternoon hours.Some snow accumulations from this winter weather event include, 2.0 inches in Barry Lakes, 0.5 of an inch in Blairstown, and 0.3 of an inch in both Newton and Wantage.
