Flooding continued across western Nevada into early January. However, rivers and streams reached flood stage and then started to recede on January 1st. The entire Truckee River was below flood stage by the evening of the 1st. The entire Carson River was below flood stage by early on the 3rd.

AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING AS THE NEXT PACIFIC SYSTEM MOVES
TOWARD NRN CA AND THE PACNW. THIS SYSTEM IS SHOWING A NICE COMMA
SHAPE WITH THE NOSE OF A 160KT JET JUST WEST OF 130W.

THIS STORM WILL HAVE LOWER SNOW LEVELS BUT STILL EXPECT OVER AN INCH
OF PRECIPITATION BELOW 6000 FEET SO WILL HAVE TO MONITOR STREAMS AND
CREEKS ONCE AGAIN DUE TO PREVIOUS FLOODING AND OVERSATURATED
SOILS.

SNOW LEVELS QUICKLY BEGIN TO RISE TOMORROW...REACHING AROUND 6K
NORTHEAST CA TO 7.5K AT THE LAKE AND OVER 8K IN MONO COUNTY. EXPECT
SNOW LEVELS TO DROP TO THE LAKE LEVEL AFTER MIDNIGHT MONDAY INTO
EARLY MON MORNING. FOR WESTERN NV SHOULD DROP TO VALLEY FLOORS
MONDAY EVENING AS PRECIPITATION IS WINDING DOWN.
