SEVERAL CONVECTIVE COMPLEXES FIRED OVERNIGHT NEAR SURFACE BOUNDARY
DRAPED ACRS IA INTO NEB IN MOISTURE PLUME STREAMING OUT OF SW U.S.
INTO S MN/IA. THE BRUNT OF PRECIP IN OVERNITE HOURS HAS REMAINED
JUST S OF MN BRDR.  WEATHER SHOULD REMAIN VERY ACTIVE TODAY THRU
THIS EVENING WITH POTENTIAL OF SOME HEAVY RAINS MAINLY S CWA NEAR
WARM FRONT.  THE LOW PRESSURE IN THE DAKOTAS WILL BE PICKED UP BY
TROF COMING OUT OF MT AND PUSHED INTO SE MN BY EARLY EVENING.  VERY
STRONG UPPER JET FOR LATE JULY N OF CNDN BORDER (130 KTS) WILL COME
INTO PLAY WITH RATHER IMPRESSIVE DIVERGENCE SPREADING INTO AREA
MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS COLD FRONT MOVES THRU AREA.
MAIN THREAT WILL PROBABLY BE HEAVY RAINS...BUT LOWER FREEZING LEVELS
TODAY WILL ALSO INCREASE HAIL POTENTIAL AS WILL THE 30 TO 35 KNTS OF
0-6 KM BULK SHEAR. HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OUT OF THE PRAIRIES OF
CANADA INTO MN OVERNITE WHICH WILL BRING MUCH DRIER AND MORE
COMFORTABLE AIR INTO MN/WI.  ADDED A LOW POP FOR WED NITE TO N CWA
AS WEAK TROF MOVES THRU.

LONGER TERM...THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY
START OF EXTENDED PD COOLER WITH NW FLOW THU INTO FRI. STRONG WAA
KICKS IN FRI NIGHT PUSHING 850MB TEMPS TO +20 BY SAT MORN. THIS WILL
ALLOW TEMPS TO REBOUND BACK INTO THE 80S. ON SAT 500/700MB TROF FCST
TO SWING THRU NRN MN. POPS WARRENTED ACROSS NE/E ZONES WHERE BEST
MOISTURE AND LIFT WILL CROSS. THOUGHT ABOUT CONTINUING POPS INTO SAT
NIGHT WITH BACK EDGE OF UPPER LVL TROF MOVING THRU WITH THERMAL
RIDGE STILL POKING INTO REGION...BUT UNTIL CONFIDENCE LEVEL IS
HIGHER /TRYING TO FCST MCS DEVELOPMENT OUT THAT FAR IS VERY TOUGH/
HAVE OPTED TO KEEP FCST DRY FOR NOW. NW FLOW SUN NIGHT INTO MON WITH

RAINFALL IS EXPECTED SOUTH AND EAST OF A LINE FROM NEW ULM TO THE
TWIN CITIES TO RICE LAKE BY THE TIME THE PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF
LATE THIS EVENING. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL AND LOCALIZED
FLOODING ARE POSSIBLE IN AREAS WHERE THE STRONGEST STORMS PASS
