Heavy showers in windward parts of the Big Island of Hawaii, from Kamuela in South Kohala to Glenwood in Puna, produced small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding of roadways. No serious injuries or property damage were reported.

A HIGH PRESSURE FAR NORTH OF OUR AREA WILL MAINTAIN MODERATE TO
STRONG TRADE WINDS ONE MORE DAY. THE WINDS WILL DECREASE SLIGHTLY
TUESDAY AS THE HIGH MOVES EAST. ANOTHER HIGH IS EXPECTED TO SETTLE
IN NORTH OF OUR ISLANDS THURSDAY...WITH STRONGER TRADE WINDS
RETURNING. THIS HIGH WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEKEND. PASSING
CLOUDS AND SHOWERS WILL BE AFFECTING MAINLY THE WINDWARD AND
MOUNTAIN AREAS.

WINDWARD BIG ISLAND CONTINUES TO GET SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF RAINFALL
THIS MORNING. A COUPLE OF RAIN GAUGES RECORDED ABOUT AN INCH AND A
HALF IN THE PAST SIX HOURS. THE WINDWARD SECTIONS OF REST OF THE
ISLANDS SAW MUCH LESS RAIN OVERNIGHT...WITH GAUGES IN MAUI RECORDED
UP TO HALF AN INCH IN THE PAST 6 HOURS. SATELLITE IMAGERY STILL
SHOWS FAIR AMOUNT OF CLOUDS EAST OF OUR ISLANDS THIS MORNING. THESE
CLOUDS...CARRIED BY THE TRADE WINDS...WILL BRING MORE SHOWERS TO
MAINLY THE WINDWARD AND MOUNTAIN SECTIONS TODAY. THE HIGH PRESSURE
FAR NORTH OF OUR AREA IS EXPECTED TO BRING BREEZY TRADE WINDS TO
OUR AREA ONE MORE DAY. BY TUESDAY...AS THIS HIGH MOVES EAST AWAY
FROM OUR AREA...THE TRADE WINDS WILL WEAKEN A NOTCH. THE LATEST
MODEL RUN IS STILL CONSISTENT IN BRINGING ANOTHER HIGH TO OUR NORTH
BY THURSDAY. THIS LATEST RUN HAS BACKED OFF A BIT ON THE STRENGTH OF
THE TRADE WINDS...AS IT ALSO SHOWS A WEAK UPPER LEVEL TROUGH MOVES
OVER OUR ISLANDS AT THE SAME TIME. THIS TROUGH MAY ALSO ENHANCE THE
TRADE SHOWERS BY MAKING THE AIR MASS A LITTLE MORE UNSTABLE.
ANYWAY...THIS NEXT HIGH WILL PERSIST NORTH OF THE ISLANDS THROUGH
THE WEEKEND...AND IT IS STILL EXPECTED TO WEAKEN BY THE LATER PART
OF THE WEEKEND. REGARDLESS...TRADE WIND WEATHER PREVAILS THROUGH
THIS WEEK WITH PASSING CLOUDS AND SHOWERS AFFECTING MAINLY WINDWARD
AND MOUNTAIN SECTIONS.

TO STRONG TRADES. THE TRADE WIND SWELL STILL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO
