What happened

The episode as NWS TAE wrote it up.

High swells from Hurricane Wilma caused minor beach erosion at Cape San Blas, St. George Island, Dog Island, and Alligator Point. After years of punishment from past tropical cyclones, the 153-year-old brick lighthouse on Little St. George Island fell to the beach and Gulf of Mexico, and was discovered broken apart. The lighthouse was used until 1994, when it was taken out of service by the Coast Guard.
