.SHORT TERM...FOR THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA INTERIOR...TEMPERATURES
THIS MORNING CONTINUING TO RUN SOME 10 DEG-F BELOW THAT OF THURSDAY.
MAIN CAUSE TO THIS COOLING HAS BEEN AN INTRUSION OF MARINE AIR
BROUGHT ON BY A SHORT WAVE TROF THAT PUSHED INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAST NIGHT. PROFILER DATA FROM FORT ORD SHOWED THE MARINE LAYER AT
JUST ABOVE 2000 FEET THIS MORNING. WHILE CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE
TO FEEL HOT TODAY...THE MARINE AIR INTRUSION WILL ONLY ALLOW
TEMPERATURES TO REACH THE MID 90S TO AROUND 103. THIS COOLING SHOULD
BE AROUND 5 DEG-F OF COOLING FROM THAT OF THURSDAY. IN ADDITION...
WITH A MARINE LAYER DEPTH OF ONLY 2000 FEET...ONLY THE VALLEY FLOOR
AND LOWER FOOTHILL WILL EXPERIENCE THIS SLIGHT COOLING TODAY. NOT
MUCH COOLING EXPECTED OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN AS MESOSCALE
INFLUENCES WILL BE THE ONLY FACTOR TODAY. FURTHERMORE...UPPER FLOW
BECOMING MORE SOUTHWESTERLY TODAY. WHILE THE THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS
WILL DIMINISH TODAY...MAY STILL SEE AN ISOLATED CELL POP UP THIS
AFTERNOON. THEREFORE...WILL MAINTAIN A SLIGHT CHANCE OVER THE SIERRA
NEVADA CREST AS MODELS STILL PLACING SOME LI/S AND CAPE VALUES OVER
THE MOUNTAINS.

.PREV DISCUSSION...SHORT RANGE MODELS QUICKLY REBUILD THE RIDGE OVER
THE AREA SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WITH THE RETURN OF SOUTHEAST FLOW ALOFT
ADVECTING IN THE MOISTURE FROM REMNANTS OF EMILY. ONE INHIBITING
FACTOR MAY BE THE 500 MB HIGH CENTER NOW BEING PROJECTED TO BUILD
WEST FROM OVER THE AREA SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THIS MAY KEEP THE
DEEPEST MOISTURE OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. CURRENT GRIDS HAVE CHANCE
POPS OVER THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAIN AND DESERT AREAS AND THIS WILL
STILL BE FINE. TEMPERATURES UNDER THE HIGH WILL REMAIN HOT.

&&

.AVIATION...VFR CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST FOR ALL AREAS THROUGH 18Z
SATURDAY. REFER TO TAFS AT KMCE...KFAT...AND KBFL FOR DETAILS.

.HNX...WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...NONE.
