The Kenai radar indicated hail potential of 3/4 inch or more with this thunderstorm. This thunderstorm occurred over a relatively uninhabited region. A report was received from the Alaska Railroad that "ping-pong ball" size hail was observed near Curry.

MAINLAND HIGH CENTER BEING PINCHED OFF AND SHIFTING NORTH ON FRIDAY.
UPPER CENTER OVER THE BERING SEA SHIFTS EAST AND SETS UP SOUTHWEST
FLOW OVER THE MAINLAND SATURDAY.

THERMAL TROUGH CONTINUES OVER MAINLAND ALASKA. AFTERNOON AND EVENING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY INLAND FORECAST AREAS OVER THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS. COASTAL BREEZES WILL BE PREDOMINATE WIND
DIRECTIONS...GUSTIER WINDS VICINITY OF CONVECTION ELSEWHERE. EXPECT
NIGHT AND AM FOG AND LOW STRATUS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A CONCERN FOR
COASTAL SOUTHWEST ALASKA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF NIGHTS.
FURTHER WEST...NOT MUCH WINDS OVER THE BERING SEA/ALEUTIANS.
WEAKENING FRONT OVER THE PRIBILOFS AND EAST ALEUTIANS WILL WEAKEN IN
PLACE. REMNANTS OF OLD TROPICAL SYSTEM BRINGS MOISTURE TO THE AK PEN
FRI AFTERNOON AND THE SOUTHERN MAINLAND SAT.
