A BAND OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS REMAINS STATIONARY ACROSS THE BIG ISLAND...STRETCHING OFF TO THE WEST SOUTHWEST OF THE BIG ISLAND. THE OTHER ISLANDS HAVE MODERATELY STRONG TRADE WINDS WITH MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES LEEWARD...BUT HAVE CLOUDS AND SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER WINDWARD AND MAUKA SECTIONS. LITTLE CHANGE IN THIS PATTERN IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS A STATIONARY SHEARLINE CONTINUES TO AFFECT THE BIG ISLAND. && .DISCUSSION... A KONA LOW SOME 750 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF THE STATE WITH A CONVERGENCE BAND SPIRALING OUT OF IT SOUTHWARD AND LYING OVER THE BIG ISLAND IS CONTROLLING OUR WEATHER. WITH THE KONA LOW SHOWING LITTLE MOVEMENT OVER THE NEXT WEEK OR SO...THE CONVERGENCE BAND AND ITS ATTENDANT HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT ISLAND WEATHER...WITH MOST RAINFALL OVER THE BIG ISLAND.
