NORTHEAST OREGON/SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PENDLETON OR
815 PM PDT SUN AUG 24 2003
A CALM NIGHT WILL DOMINATE THE FORECAST AREA WITH MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES
AND LIGHT WINDS. AN UPPER TROUGH WILL DIG OFF THE WASHINGTON AND
SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA COAST ON MONDAY WITH THE FLOW ALOFT
TURNING TO MORE SOUTHWEST WHILE AN UPPER RIDGE AMPLIFIES TO THE EAST
OF THE CWA. THIS WILL CAUSE A WARMING TREND TO TAKE PLACE ON
MONDAY. THE TROUGH OFF THE COAST WILL SEND A DISTURBANCE ACROSS
NORTHWEST WASHINGTON ON TUESDAY. MOST OF THE ENERGY...MOISTURE AND
LIFTING WILL STAY TO THE NORTH OF THE FORECAST AREA...BUT MAY BRUSH
THE NORTHWEST MOST ZONES. BELIEVE ANY CHANCE OF RAIN THERE WILL
ONLY BE SLIGHT IF ANY AT ALL...BUT FOR NOW WILL LEAVE FORECAST AS
IS. THE FORECAST AREA WILL THEN GO INTO A DRY WESTERLY FLOW PATTERN
WITH SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND A SLIGHT WARMING TREND
AGAIN FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. RSC.
