BULK OF THE DEEP CONVECTION WITH THE MCS HAS MOVED OFFSHORE. BOUY 019
REPORTED A GUST OF 58 KNOTS WITH THE SURGING BOW OF THE MCS PASSAGE.
STILL GETTING SOME RAIN BACK OVER THE NORTHWEST ZONES WITH THE WAKE
LOW. PRECIPATABLE WATERS DIPPED IN THE WAKE OF THE MCS BUT ARE ALREADY
COMING BACK UP AND HOUSTON HAS COME BACK UP TO 2 INCHES. SEE LITTLE IN
THE WAY OF ARGUMENT AGAINST ANOTHER ROUND OR TWO OF THUNDERSTORMS
TODAY. THOUGH GIVEN THE ETA SOUNDING PROGS THE CAPE IS DRAMATICALLY
LESS AND THE WIND PROFILE NOT AS IMPRESSIVE (GFS SOUNDINGS DEPICTING
DEWPOINTS STILL IN THE MID 70S.) DAYTIME HEATING SHOULD BE THE MAIN
CATALYST FOR DEVELOPMENT. WILL CARRY HIGH POPS TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
WILL NOT ISSUE A FLASH FLOOD WATCH DUE TO THE PERSISTENT DROUGHT BUT
WILL NEED TO MONITOR THIS MORE CLOSELY NOW THAT THE REGION HAS HAD
SOME RAINFALL THIS LAST WEEK. MODELS DIFFER SIGNFICANTLY WITH
EVOLUTION OF THE PATTERN. GFS AND ECMWF SIMILAR THROUGH SUNDAY THEN
ECMWF LIFTS UPPER LOW OUT INTO AR AND NORTHEAST...WHILE GFS STILL
SLIPPING IT SOUTHWEST. ETA MOVES IT TO NEAR THE COAST. WILL FAVOR THE
GFS SUNDAY AND BEYOND BUT AM BECOMING MORE SKEPTICAL OF THE EXTENDED
PERIOD OF RAIN THAT IT IS PROGGING.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON
ONCE TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE UPPER 80S. THE ATMOSPHERE IS NOT AS
UNSTABLE AS YESTERDAY AND WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED.
THE STORM MOTION WILL BE SLOWER TODAY AND THAT MAY RESULT IN LOCALLY
HEAVY RAIN BUT MOISTURE LEVELS ARE LESS THAN YESTERDAY AS WELL SO
WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
