...FLASH FLOOD WATCH AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH OUT SOON...
POTENT SHORTWAVE TROUGH OVER NORTHERN MEXICO APPROACHING RAPIDLY AND
IS THE MAIN INGREDIENT FOR INCREASED POPS TONIGHT...WHICH WILL
INCREASE FROM SOUTH TO NORTH WITH 100 PERCENT POPS FOR THE AUSTIN
METRO AND COUNTIES NORTH. MORE CONVECTION CURRENTLY FIRING OVER
WESTERN VAL VERDE AND ALONG THE SIERRA MADRES WILL MOVE EAST WITH
TIME AND BRING HEAVY RAIN TO AREAS THAT ALREADY RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN
THIS MORNING. WITH PWS 120-150 PERCENT OF NORMAL...WILL GO AHEAD AND
PULL THE TRIGGER ON A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR OUR NORTHERN COUNTIES.
WILL HAVE FFA OUT SHORTLY.
SEVERE THREAT THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ON THE INCREASE AS
WELL...WILL BE HANDLED BY A WATCH DUE OUT SHORTLY...MAINLY FOR THE
NORTHERN HALF OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS. CLUSTER MOVING EAST ACROSS THE
HILL COUNTRY WILL BE MOVING INTO A VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS WITH CAPES
OF 3500-5000 AND STRONG LOW LEVEL INFLOW. WILL MAKE A MESS DURING
RUSH-HOUR TRAFFIC.
NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THE PREVIOUS FORECAST FOR MONDAY THRU
WEDNESDAY...WITH A TREND TOWARD CLIMO THEREAFTER.

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON
MAINLY OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...MAINLY VAL
VERDE...EDWARDS AND KINNEY COUNTIES. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY LATE AFTERNOON ALONG A DRY LINE OVER
WEST TEXAS AND SPREAD RAPIDLY EASTWARD. A MODERATE RISK OF
SEVERE STORMS EXISTS THIS EVENING THROUGHOUT ALL OF SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS AS A VIGOROUS UPPER AIR DISTURBANCE MOVES ACROSS THE AREA.
THIS INCLUDES THE AUSTIN AND SAN ANTONIO METRO AREAS. LARGE HAIL AND

General rainfall over Bastrop County was between 1 and 2 inches, with accumulations of 3 to 4 inches over the southeast part of the county. Flash flooding developed briefly that evening.

General rainfall over Gonzales County was between 1 and 2 inches, with accumulations of up to 4 inches along and north of IH-10. The Gonzales County Sheriff's Department reported flash flooding during the late evening hours.
