A lightning strike started a fire that destroyed a New London home. A neighbor reported hearing a very loud lighting strike about 12:15 CDT. About 4:45 am CDT, the neighbor was leaving for work and saw smoke and noticed fire in the windows. By the time fire fighters arrived the home was completely engulfed in flames and could not be saved.
