LATEST PROFILERS IN THE SJ VLY INDICATE THE PRESENCE OF
A VERY SHALLOW MARINE LAYER THIS MORNING...APPROXIMATELY
500 FT DEEP. 24 HR TEMPERATURE TRENDS ARE AVERAGING TWO
TO FOUR DEGREES COOLER AS WELL. AN ABSENCE OF STRATUS
ALONG THE CENTRAL CA COAST IS AN INDICATION THAT THE
MARINE LAYER HAS COMPLETELY MIXED OUT. ALTHO ONSHORE
GRADIENTS ARE WEAKENING...THEY STILL REMAIN RESPECTABLE
AT THIS HOUR...AVERAGING CLOSE TO 8.0 MB BETWEEN SFO AND
LAS. THIS WILL KEEP AFTERNOON TEMPS IN THE SJ VLY ON THE
COMFORTABLE SIDE OF NORMAL TODAY.

MEANWHILE...THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE IS UNDERGOING MAJOR
WARMING...THANKS TO A STRONG RIDGE ALOFT CENTERED OVER
THE FOUR CORNERS REGION. THE MODELS BUILD THIS RIDGE
AGGRESSIVELY WESTWARD INTO CA DURING THE NEXT 72 HRS.
THIS WILL SET THE STAGE FOR HOTTER WEATHER IN THE DAYS
TO COME. CURRENT ZONE FORECAST REFLECTS THIS TREND
PRETTY WELL.

LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS STILL A CONCERN IN THE KERN COUNTY
MTNS AND DESERT TODAY. HOWEVER...AS ONSHORE GRADIENTS
SLACKEN AND THE SURFACE THERMAL TROUGH BECOMES ESTABLISHED
ALONG THE COAST...WINDS IN THIS REGION SHOULD ABATE PRETTY
NICELY BY LATE TONIGHT.

.HNX...NONE.
