A thin layer of ice formed on roads in Northwest Arkansas early in the morning as light freezing drizzle fell. The Arkansas State Police responded to nine accidents in Benton, Carroll, Washington and Madison counties. One particularly troublesome spot was at a ridge along Highway 71 near the Washington-Crawford border.
