AVN AND ETA NEARLY IDENTICAL ACROSS THE INTER-MOUNTAIN WEST FOR THE
NEXT 60 HRS.  NORTHWEST FLOW WILL CONTINUE ALOFT OVER THE AREA
TODAY...THEN FLOW BECOMES ZONAL FRIDAY AS ANOTHER UPPER TROUGH MOVES
INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.  FORECAST PROBLEM FOR THE PERIOD IS
WHERE HIGH WINDS WILL OCCUR.  MOUNTAINS A SURE BET FOR TONIGHT
AND FRIDAY...LOWER ELEVATIONS OF WYOMING LIKELY TO HIT HIGH
WIND CRITERIA ALSO.  CAG TO CPR 700 MB GRADIENT WILL BE FROM 50 TO
70 METERS FROM TODAY THRU SATURDAY MORNING.  WILL KEEP HIGH WIND
WARNING GOING TODAY FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND THE FOOTHILLS OF PLATTE
COUNTY...AS THEY ARE ALREADY AT HIGH WIND CRITERIA.  WILL ISSUE
HIGH WIND WATCH FOR ALL OF SOUTHEAST WYOMING PORTION OF CWA FOR
TONIGHT AND FRIDAY AND WILL LET DAY SHIFT ADJUST COUNTIES IF
NECESSARY.  WITH THESE STRONG DOWNSLOPE WINDS CWA WILL REMAIN
DRY AND WARMER THROUGH PERIOD.  THICKNESS VALUES THIS AFTERNOON WILL
BE IN THE 540S WITH 550S ON FRIDAY.

High winds blew across parts of southeast Wyoming during a 2 day period, with gusts as high as 84 mph recorded near Arlington, WY. Strong winds recorded to 77 mph blew over several empty tractor-trailers on Interstate 25 between Wheatland and Chugwater, WY.
