THE 08Z SFC CHART SHOWS HIGH PRESSURE OVER ERN ID AND WRN WY WITH A
LEE TROUGH EXTENDING INTO NE WY. METARS INDICATE GENERALLY LIGHT SW
WIND OVER THE WIND CORRIDOR. A RIDGE CAN BE SEEN OVER THE SW US AND
A TROUGH IN THE PAC NW PER WATER VAPOR IMAGERY.

MAIN PROBLEM THIS FCST PKG IS POPS WITH TROUGH PASSAGE WED NIGHT AND
THU. CLDS INCREASE AFT 00Z THU IN THE FAR WEST AND SPREAD EAST
OF THE DIVIDE AROUND 06Z THU. THE SFC FT...ACCORDING TO THE
MESOETA...MOVES INTO COD/BYG AFT 06Z THU AND INTO THE RIW/CPR AREAS
AROUND 15Z. WESTERLY WIND OVER SRN WY KEEPS THE FRONT OUT OF THE
RKS AREA UNTIL ARD 21Z. LOW SCT POPS ACROSS THE ENTIRE FA SHOULD
HANDLE QUICK MOVING NRN STREAM TROUGH. TROUGH AXIS MOVES EAST OF THE
FA BY 00Z FRI. WINDS AHEAD AND BEHIND THIS FEATURE WILL BE IN THE
BREEZY TO WINDY CATEGORIES THROUGH THU EVE. HIGH PRESSURE/SUBSIDENCE
WILL RULE OVER THE FA TODAY AND AGAIN ON FRI. H7 TEMPS WARM ABOUT 10
DEGREES TODAY AND THEN FALL BACK ABOUT 12 DEGREES ON THU AND THEN
MAKE GOOD RECOVERY ON FRI.

IN THE EXTENDED...NEW MRF STILL ADVERTIZING CHANCE OF SNOW OVER
THE ENTIRE FA SUN/MON. THE AVN SEEMS TO ALSO BE TRENDING TOWARD THIS
SCENARIO. CURRENT FCST HANDLES THIS WELL WEST OF THE DIVIDE.
EAST OF THE DIVIDE STILL TRICKY SINCE THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY
AS THIS NEXT TROUGH EVOLVES IN THE WEST. IF IT UNFOLDS AS MODEL
INDICATES AN UPSLOPE EVENT EAST OF THE DIVIDE WILL BE POSSIBLE.
