Scattered, evening, severe thunderstorms with damaging straight-line winds and large hail developed over parts of south-central and southeast Wisconsin. The powerful winds toppled trees which pulled down power lines. In addition, brief, torrential rainfalls resulted in urban floodiing on the southwest side of the city of Milwaukee around 76th and Oklahoma, where water was 10 inches deep on roads. About 4,000 homes in Jefferson and Milwaukee counties lost electrical power due to downed lines or lightning hits.

FORECAST FOCUS ON HEAVY RAIN POSSIBILITIES TONIGHT AND TIMING OF
RAIN IN EARLY FORECAST PERIODS.

IN THE SHORT TERM...CONVECTION TONIGHT TO BE DOMINATED BY MINOR
DISTURBANCES IN MOIST UNSTABLE AIRMASS OVER CWA. 12Z AND PRECIPITABLE
WATER VALUES AROUND 2 INCHES REMAIN IN AREA THROUGH TUESDAY
AFTERNOON. CORFIDI VECTORS/THETA E RIDGE COMPOSITE MAP AND
UNIDIRECTIONAL SOUNDINGS FAVOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH CONVECTION
TONIGHT. WILL INCLUDE LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IN FORECAST AS CONDITIONS TO
REMAIN UNCHANGED TONIGHT.

IN THE FAR TERM...ETA/AVN/NGM PROGS IN VERY CLOSE AGREEMENT IN ENDING
CONVECTION DURING MORNING HOURS OVER CWA DESPITE THE FACT THAT
SURFACE BOUNDARY DOES NOT EXIT REGION UNTIL EVENING. THIS ALLOWS
AIRMASS OVER CWA TO RECOVER WITH CAPE VALUES PROGGED TO BE AROUND
2800 AND LIFTED INDICES DROPPING TO AROUND -5. HOWEVER TIME CROSS
SECTIONS ALL REVEAL DOWNWARD VERTICAL VELOCITY DURING AFTERNOON HOURS
AND PROGS LACK ANY DECENT UPPER AIR TRIGGERS. SO WILL CONTINUE WITH
A DRY TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

FRONT BECOMES NEARLY STATIONARY OVER NORTHERN ILLINOIS TUESDAY NIGHT.
PROGS IN CLOSE AGREEMENT TO BRING A WEAK SHORT WAVE ALONG FRONT. SO
WILL GO WITH DECENT CHANCE OF CONVECTION TUESDAY NIGHT BEFORE WEAK
HIGH SETTLES IN FOR DRY WEDNESDAY. AVN/NGM GUIDANCE TEMPERATURES NOT
TO CLOSE AFTER TONIGHT SO HAVE GONE WITH BLEND OF BOTH.
