THUNDERSTORMS ERUPTED OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST OREGON AS A SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVED NORTH ALONG THE IDAHO BORDER. THE GREATEST INSTABILITY WAS OVER WALLOWA COUNTY...WHERE SPOTTERS/LAW ENFORCEMENT OBSERVED HAIL NEAR 1 INCH IN DIAMETER. ALTHOUGH STORMS HAVE DECREASED IN INTENSITY...STILL WILL NOT RULE OUT POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT. DRY MICROBURST WINDS AND LARGE HAIL APPEAR TO BE THE BIGGEST THREAT. MEANWHILE...ANOTHER SHORTWAVE IS MOVING TOWARDS THE COAST. THIS SYSTEM WILL FORCE COOLER AIR EAST OF THE CASCADES BY EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. ALTHOUGH COOLER AND MORE STABLE AIR WILL SPREAD OVER THE FORECAST AREA...SURFACE GRADIENTS WILL INCREASE WITH BREEZY WINDS.
