AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...CORRECTED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX 255 PM CDT WED JUN 26 2002 UPPER RIDGE REMAINS ANCHORED ACROSS NORTHERN MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON...WHILE AN UPPER LOW WAS LOCATED ACROSS NORTHEAST TEXAS. A RESULTANT NORTHERLY FLOW ALOFT CONTINUES OVER THE FORECAST AREA. A MID LEVEL WAVE CURRENTLY LOCATED IN KANSAS WILL RIDE SOUTH INTO THE NORTHERN/NORTHEAST PERMIAN BASIN TONIGHT. THIS WAVE WILL HELP SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP TONIGHT...WITH THE BEST CHANCES ACROSS THE NORTHEAST PERMIAN BASIN. THE UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS NORTHERN MEXICO OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. SEVERAL UPPER LEVEL WAVES WILL MOVE SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE UPPER RIDGE.
