TO PROVIDE REGION WITH CHANCES FOR SPOTTY CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY MAINLY
DURING THE DAYTIME HOURS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. PRECIP REMNANTS FROM
ONE WAVE WILL DRIFT ACROSS AREAS NORTHEAST OF BINGHAMTON
THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. MEANWHILE...ADDL
CONVECTION FIRING IN WESTERN NY AND NCNTRL PA WILL REACH MAINLY
WESTERN PARTS OF THIS FCST AREA...AS ANOTHER WK IMPULSE APCHS THE
REGION TONIGHT. EXPECT TO SEE SCATTERED ACTIVITY REDEVLOP INTO THE
EVENING HOURS SO WILL CARRY TSRA CHANCES MOST EVERYWHERE UNTIL
MIDNIGHT UNTIL WAVE AND LLVL CONVG REGION MOVES EAST AND DIURNAL
STABILITY KICKS IN.
HIER RES VERSION OF ETA MDL HAS A REASONABLE HANDLE ON CURRENT
SITUATION AND WILL BE FOLLOWED. FRIDAY LOOKS MAINLY DRY FOR BULK OF
THE DAY UNTIL NEXT WK TROF COMES IN FROM UPR MIDWEST. EFFECTS NOT
LIKELY UNTIL AFTER MID AFTERNOON...AND EVEN THEN...THIS FEATURE
APPEARS TO WASH OUT CONSIDERABLY AS IT BUMPS INTO THE EVER
PERSISTENT RIDGE. FOR WESTERN ZONES A LATE DAY CHANCE APPEARS
REASONABLE. 850 MB TEMPS WILL REMAIN ON THE ORDER OF 17-18C BOTH
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. WITH ONLY PARTIAL SUNSHINE EACH DAY...AN
ADIABATIC MIX BETWEEN DRY AND MOIST SHOULD YIELD TEMPERATURES
GENERALLY 85 TO 90.
BOTH ETA AND AVN AGREE THAT SAT AFTN WILL SEE ANOTHER MORE
SIGNIFICANT IMPULSE MOVE AT US IN THE SWLY FLOW. WILL INTRODUCE
CHANCES FOR TSRA MAINLY FROM SRN TIER NY ACROSS INTO NE PA FOR THE
AFTERNOON AS A RESULT OF THIS FEATURE SCOOTING ACROSS NEPA. IT
SHOULD THEN PASS BY SATURDAY EVENING. LATER IN THE WEEKEND...A
COOLER AIRMASS CURRENTLY NESTLED IN NORTHERN CANADA SHOULD FINALLY
BRING TRUE RELIEF...MAINLY FELT ON MONDAY WITH SUNDAY BEING THE
TRANSITION DAY AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH WITH WIDESPREAD PRECIP

Trees and power lines downed in Throop, Dunmore, and Scranton. 2900 customers were without power. 2700 were in Throop. On Edgar Street, downed power lines were sparking on the ground. Part of a 40 foot tree on South Sumner Avenue in Scranton fell near a home knocking off a rain gutter at around 7 PM EST.
