01Z SFC ANALYSIS SHOWING CYCLONE CONTINUING TO DEVELOP IN EXTREME
EASTERN WYOMING WITH INVERTED TROF EXTENDING NORTHWARD INTO EASTERN
MONTANA. LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAS
DEVELOPED IN RESPONSE TO LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE WITH THIS FEATURE.
WARM FRONT FROM THE PARENT CYCLONE CONTINUES OVER EXTREME NORTHERN
PORTION OF SOUTH DAKOTA. SFC DEW POINTS JUST SOUTH OF THE FRONT
RAPIDLY CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE 60S. THE DEW POINT GRADIENT REMAINS
SHARP TO THE NORTH WITH LOWER 40S REMAINING OVER NORTHEASTERN NORTH
DAKOTA.

THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE TO ORGANIZE INTO AN MCS ACROSS
THE FORECAST AREA AS 50+KT LOW LEVEL JET LIFTS 340K 850 MB THETA-E
AIR OVER THE WARM FRONT LATER THIS EVENING. 00Z ABR SOUNDING HAS A
PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUE OF 1.5 INCHES...THUS FIRST ROUND OF HEAVY
RAINFALL WILL BE SET OFF TONIGHT. CURRENT ZONE SET LOOKS IN GOOD
