TRICKY WX PTRN CONTS IN THE SHORTER TERM...GENERALLY CHARACTERIZED
BY LARGE LOW LVL HIGH PRES OVER THE GRTLKS AND WK SHORTWVS TO THE
WEST. DISSIPATING TS COMPLEX IN E CNTRL NEB THRU MIDDAY...HAS
CREATED A RESIDUAL VORT FILAMENT ACRS THE AREA...NOT PICKED UP BY
THE 1Z ETA BUT DID GET INTRODUCED BY THE 18Z ETA. VIS SAT PICTURE
AND AREA 88DS SHOW A LINE OF CONVECTION FROM THE SE NEB/NE KS
BORDER...STRAIGHT NWD INTO FAR SE SD. THESE STORMS WITH NOTHING IN
THE WAY OF SHEAR TO WORK WITH...ARE EXHIBITING LITTLE MOVEMENT AND
DUMPING SOME PRETTY GOOD AMNTS OF RAIN IN ISOLD SPOTS. SPOTTER NEAR
WAKONDA RECEIVED ABOUT 2 INCHES FROM ONE TS LATE THIS AFTN. IN
ADDN...SOME MORE ISOLD DEVELOPMENT CONTS ON THE BUFFALO RIDGE ARND
KMML...LIKELY ENHANCED BY SOME LOW LVL UPSLOPE AND SOME DIFFERENTIAL
HEATING EARLIER IN THE DAY FROM LAST NIGHTS STRATUS CLOSE TO THAT
AREA. BUT ANYWAY...WITH PLENT OF CU/TCU POPPED THROUGHOUT THE FSD
FA...HAD TO ACCOUNT FOR ISOLD ERLY EVE ACTIVITY UNTIL THE SUN
WANES...EXCEPT ARND KYKN WHERE I HIT THINGS A BIT HARDER CLOSER TO
THE VORT LOBE. SMALL SHORTWV THEN BEGINS TO MOVE INTO THE AREA WEST
OF HERE LATER TNGT...POSSIBLY INFLUENCING THE WRN HALF OF THE CWA
WITH SOME TS/SHRA.
THIS WAVE IS STILL FCST TO NUDGE INTO THE FSD FA ON WED...POSSIBLY
SPREADING SOME TS FURTHER EAST ALONG THE I 29 CORRIDOR. IT HAS BEEN
VERY DIFFICULT TO TIME THESE FEATURES...AND WITH NO CAPPING PRESENT
AT ALL...ONE CAN SEE THAT THESE SHOWERS CAN ALMOST GO AT ANYTIME OF
THE DAY. SVR THREAT ON WED OR WED EVE SHOULD BE VERY LIMITED WITH
VERY WEAK SHEAR CONTINUING...AND INSTABILITY/CAPES WHICH ARE ONLY
MARGINAL AT BEST. CANNOT RULE OUT WITH THESE SLOW MOVG TS A FEW
LOCATIONS GETTING SOME HEAVY RAIN HOWEVER.
WAVE TRIES TO EXIT THE CWA WED NIGHT IN A DIFLUENT FLOW PATTERN...
LEAVING A SMALL CHC OF TS ACRS THE AREA WITH MAYBE A LITTLE BETTER
CHANCE IN THE FAR ERN FSD FA. KIND OF THE SAME STORY ON THURSDAY
WITH UPR DIFLUENCE CONTINUING. KEPT POPS IN NW IA AND PART OF SW
MN...BUT MAY HAVE TO EXPAND THIS TOMORROW.
NEXT WELL ADVERTISED SHORTWV MOVES INTO THE AREA ON FRIDAY. BUT LIKE
YDAY...THE LOW LVL JET HAS A HARD TIME GETTING ESTABLISHED AHEAD OF
THIS ONE LIMITING TS CHANCES TO SMALL POPS. LOOK FOR A WARMUP ACRS
THE CWA THIS WEEKEND AS 850 TEMPS CLIMB INTO THE LOWER 20S C...SO
WENT WL ABV MEX/FMR GUIDANCE BOTH DAYS. THEN A FAIRLY STRONG CDFNT
IS FCST TO DROP THRU THE AREA ON MON...GIVING SOME PARTS OF THE ERN
CWA A CHC FOR TS.
