AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY ISSUED BY NWS PADUCAH KY 132 PM EDT TUE AUG 27 2002 PROVIDING SERVICE BACKUP FOR WFO LMK. LITTLE CHANGE NEEDED TO GOING ZONE FORECAST. DAILY CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE AS AN UPPER LOW...CURRENTLY POSITIONED OVER SCNTRL KY/NCNTRL TN MOVES LITTLE THROUGH FRIDAY. IF ANYTHING...IT MIGRATES A BIT TO THE WEST THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK BEFORE DAMPENING. DECENT MOISTURE PROGGED TO REMAIN ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE UPPER LOW...WITH IMPULSES ROTATING AROUND IT...THUS THE DAILY CHANCE OF CONVECTION. MOST OF THE ACTION SHOULD BE IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING...BUT RECENT TRENDS HAVE SHOWN SOME ACTIVITY EVEN LINGERS THROUGH THE NIGHT...SO WILL KEEP NIGHTTIME LOW POPS GOING. LITTLE VARIANCE IN DAILY MAX/MIN TEMPS IS EXPECTED. THIS IS WHAT WAS PRESENTED IN THE ZONES. ONLY SLIGHT CHANGE WAS TO LOWER THE HIGH TEMPERATURE FORECAST A CATEGORY FOR EASTERN SECTIONS OF THE CWFA FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. MRF SUGGESTS A CHANCE OF CONVECTION RIGHT UP THROUGH LABOR DAY AND EVEN TUESDAY. CURRENT ZFP DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING IN STARTING SUNDAY. ADDED A CHANCE TO THE SUNDAY FORECAST...BUT HAVE HELD OFF ON ADDING TO EITHER LABOR DAY OR TUESDAY...WAITING FOR MORE RUN TO RUN CONSISTENCY IN THE EXTENDED GUIDANCE. LATER SHIFTS MAY NEED TO TAKE A LOOK. IN TERMS OF GUIDANCE TEMPS...A BLEND OF THE MOS NUMBERS AND PREVIOUS CCF/ZFP NUMBERS WERE USED....WITH THE NET RESULT BEING LITTLE CHANGE TO THE GOING FORECAST. .SDF...NONE.
