STRANGE WEATHER PATTERN FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. MODELS ALL IN DECENT
AGREEMENT ON A REX-BLOCK PATTERN OVER US WITH A CUT-OFF LOW
MEANDERING SOUTH OF THE UPPER RIDGE. WE TYPICALLY SEE THIS KIND OF
PATTERN IN THE EAST PACIFIC AND NOT RIGHT OVER US. MODELS DIFFER IN
THE EXACT DETAILS OF WHERE THIS LOW IS GOING TO BOUNCE AROUND AND AS
SUCH I CANT PUT TOO MUCH FAITH IN ANY SPECIFIC SOLUTION. LOOKS LIKE
THE UPPER LOW WILL MOVE UP TO THE WA/OR/ID BORDER INTERSECTION
TONIGHT. THIS WILL CONTINUE THE THREAT OF SHOWERS OVER OUR
AREA...MAINLY OVER THE PANHANDLE. BUT THEN THE DOWNSTREAM RIDGE OVER
THE CENTRAL U.S. BUILDS AND THE LOW ACTUALLY RETROGRADES BACK TO THE
SOUTHWEST OVER OREGON ON FRIDAY. THIS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO
WARM A BIT. ALSO EXPECT A SOMEWHAT LESS CHANCE OF SHOWERS. THE FLY-
IN-THE-OINTMENT IN ALL THIS WILL BE THE WRAP-AROUND BANDS. IF
THEYRE SIMILAR TO THIS MORNING THEN THEYLL DIE OUT ONCE THEY GET
WEST OF THE PANHANDLE.

THEN THE QUESTION IS WHEN WILL THIS LOW KICK OUT OF HERE. MODELS
REMAIN SURPRISINGLY CONSISTENT IN THIS REGARD. A SHORT WAVE EMBEDDED
IN THE SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW OF THE EASTERN PACIFIC TROUGH IS FORECAST
TO KICK OUT OUR LOW ON SATURDAY/SUNDAY. THIS SHOULD COOL
TEMPERATURES A BIT OVER FRIDAYS READINGS AND INCREASE THE CHANCES
FOR SHOWERS AGAIN.

EXTENDED...TROUGH SLOWLY LIFTS OUT OF THE AREA ON SUNDAY FOR A
CONTINUED THREAT OF SHOWERS. SHOWERS COULD LINGER INTO MONDAY IN THE
PANHANDLE. AFTER THAT WE RETURN TO DRY AND WARMER WEATHER WITH
TEMPERATURES REACHING ABOVE NORMAL VALUES BY MIDWEEK. RJ
