LOW-LEVEL CONVERGENCE ASSOCIATED WITH THE MONSOON TROUGH IS GENERATING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN TWO AREAS. THE FIRST AREA...CONTAINING SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...IS BETWEEN 5N AND 21N FROM 130E TO 150E. THIS AREA INCLUDES THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU...YAP STATE AND THE MARIANA ISLANDS. THE SECOND AREA...CONTAINING NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...IS BETWEEN 4N AND 12N FROM 153E TO 165E. THIS AREA INCLUDES CHUUK... POHNPEI AND KOSRAE STATES. A SURFACE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE FROM 14N166E TO 23N168E...COMBINED WITH FAVORABLE WINDS EAST OF AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW CENTERED NEAR 24N160E...ARE GENERATING SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS BETWEEN 14N AND 20N FROM 162E TO 170E...AND BETWEEN 20N AND 25N FROM 170E TO 176E. THIS AREA INCLUDES WAKE ISLAND. LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE AT THE EASTERN END OF THE MONSOON TROUGH IS PRODUCING SCATTERED SHOWERS BETWEEN 8N AND 13N FROM 176E TO 180E.
