AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI 930 AM EDT TUE AUG 27 2002 NOT MUCH CHANGE EXPECTED IN TODAYS WEATHER COMPARED TO YESTERDAY EXCEPT SOUNDINGS SLIGHTLY MORE MOIST AND UNSTABLE. CAPE ROSE TO 3950 WHICH IS ABOUT 1000 HIGHER THAN YESTERDAY AND LIFTED INDICES DROPPED FROM -6.76 TO AT MINUS 8 AT MIAMI. THESE CONDITIONS SHOULD OVERRIDE THE LACK OF DRIER AIR ALOFT WITH A DEW POINT DEPRESSION OF ONLY 16 COMPARED WITH 27 YESTERDY. FORCING MECHANISM ARE MORE FULLY APPARENT TODAY THAN YESTERDAY AS UPPER LOW OVER OHIO VALLEY DROPS SOUTHWARD INTO THE GULF STATES. SEVERAL REPORTS OF WIND GUSTS TO 40 KNOTS YESTERDAY AND SEVERAL REPORTS OF FUNNEL CLOUDS OVER BROWARD AND PALM BEACH COUNTY. EXPECT SOMEWHAT OF A REPEAT IN STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE AFTERNOON TODAY. NO UPDATES PLANNED IN EITHER PUBLIC OR MARINE PRODUCTS THIS MORNING. .MIA...NONE.
