THE MARINE LAYER WILL REDEVELOP THIS WEEKEND FOR NIGHT AND MORNING LOW CLOUDS AND FOG WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS. OTHERWISE...FAIR WITH A COOLING TREND THROUGH THE WEEKEND. WARMER NEXT WEEK AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS. .DISCUSSION...THERE WERE A FEW PATCHES OF LOW CLOUDS/FOG NEAR THE COAST THIS AM...OTHERWISE LOTS OF HI CLOUDS. 12Z NKX SOUNDING HAD A STRONG SURFACE BASED INVERSION AND SHOWED THE HI LEVEL MOISTURE IN SSE FLOW ALOFT. WEAKENING ONSHORE GRADIENTS WITH ABOUT 4 MB SAN-IPL. UPPER LOW OFF THE COAST WHICH HAS ENTRAINED TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM WEAKENING TS ALMA WILL MOVE NE TODAY AND TONIGHT. PEAK MOISTURE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS OUR CWFA LATER TODAY AND THIS EVE ALONG WITH PVA. HOWEVER...MOST MOISTURE ABOVE 700 MB AND CENTERED AROUND 500 MB. SO SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS IN MOST AREAS AND CHANCE IN MOUNTAINS STILL LOOKS OK. PRECIP AMOUNTS...IF ANY...SHOULD BE LIGHT EXCEPT FOR POSSIBLE HEAVIER SHOWERS NEAR THUNDERSTORMS. THE MID AND HI CLOUDS WILL DISRUPT THE MARINE LAYER TONIGHT. A BROAD TROUGH DEEPENS OVER THE W SAT INTO SUN WITH DRIER SW WINDS ALOFT.
