Blizzard in Alaska, March 15 to 16, 2002
Blizzard conditions were reported across western Alaska at a number of locations including Cape Romanzof, Unalakeet, Nome, Buckland, and Kotzebue. These blizzard conditions resulted from a deepening low pressure system and associated occluded frontal boundary over the southwest Bering Sea that moved northward across the region.
