Thunderstorms with large hail and high winds moved across northern Virginia between 4:00 and 8:30 PM EDT. In Warren County, trees were downed across a road in Happy Creek. In Loudoun County, golfball sized hail fell in Round Hill. Hail was also reported at Mt. Weather. Trees were downed in the Philomont and Purcellville areas. In Fauquier County, scattered trees were downed across the northern portion of the county. In Prince William County, trees were downed in and just outside of Manassas. A wind gust of 52 MPH was recorded at the Manassas Airport.

DOPPLER RADAR SHOWS TWO AREAS OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
MOVING FROM SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA INTO NORTHERN MARYLAND.  THE FIRST
AREA OF STORMS IS MOVING SOUTHEAST TOWARD THE WESTERN PANDHANDLE OF
MARYLAND AND THE FAR EASTERN PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA. THE SECOND
AREA OF STORMS IN MOVING INTO NORTHCENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MARYLAND
TOWARD THE BALTIMORE METROPOLITAN AREA.

BOTH AREAS OF STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND
