Thunderstorms with winds in excess of 55 MPH and dangerous lightning moved across Greene and Culpeper County between 6:15 and 7:30 PM EDT on the 23rd. In Culpeper County, trees were downed in the Merrimac and Reva areas. Two lightning house fires were reported countywide. In Greene County, trees were downed southeast of Standardsville. Road crews had to clear trees and power lines from Route 33 east of Route 29, Route 633 (Amicus Road), Route 743, and 610.
