SYNOPSIS...CLOUDS AND SHOWERS WILL BE WIDESPREAD OVER UTAH THROUGH
TUESDAY AS A WEATHER DISTURBANCE CONTINUES TO SPIN OVER THE AREA.
GUSTY EAST WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE WASATCH MOUNTAINS TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION...UPPER CIRCULATION CENTER MOVING INTO THE GRAND CANYON
REGION THIS EVENING.  WIDESPREAD SNOW OVER SRN/ERN UTAH ASSOCIATED
WITH THE LOW PRODUCING SOME POCKETS OF HEAVY ACCUMULATION.  WITH THE
LOW PARKED OVER NW AZ INTO TUESDAY...HAVE EXTENDED THE SNOW ADVISORY
FOR THE SRN MOUNTAINS THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.  VALLEY LOCATIONS...
ALREADY ON THE LOW END OF SNOW ADVISORY CRITERIA...WILL PROBABLY SEE
THE AREAL COVERAGE OF SNOW DECREASE DURING THE MORNING.  WILL LET
THOSE ADVISORIES END BY TUESDAY MORNING.

EVENING MODEL RUNS IN GENERAL AGREEMENT THAT THE UPPER LOW WILL
ELONGATED W-E TUESDAY...THEN SAG SOUTH INTO SRN AZ WEDNESDAY.  THIS
MOVE SHOULD CUT OFF PRECIP FOR MUCH OF NRN/CNTRL UT...BUT STILL
LEAVE SOME SHOWERS FOR THE SRN THIRD AT LEAST INTO TUESDAY NIGHT.

WIND ADVISORY OVER THE NRN WASATCH FRONT GETTING A SLOW START AT
TIME.  MESO-ETA MODEL FROM THE 00Z RUN DOES SHOW A STABLE LAYER
STRENGTHENING ABOVE THE RIDGELINE LATER TONIGHT WITH A MODEST
INCREASE IN THE EASTERLY FLOW AT 700 MB.  ALSO...THE SURFACE
PRESSURE DIFFERENCE FROM CNTRL WY TO NW UT IS ADEQUATE...THOUGH THE
ORIENTATION OF THE GRADIENT NOT PARTICULARLY FAVORABLE.  HAVE
DECIDED TO LEAVE THE ADVISORY UP THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING WITH THE
IDEA THAT THE WINDS WILL PEAK EARLY TUESDAY.

Canyon winds developed overnight across mainly Davis County. The strongest gust reported was 60mph (52kts) on the Bountiful bench. Centerville also logged a gust of 58mph (50kts).
