A severe thunderstorm developed over the central Black Hills. It dropped large hail as it moved across Pactola Reservoir, Sheridan Lake, Hill City, Mt. Rushmore, and Custer State Park. The hail did extensive damage to buildings, windows, roofs, and vehicles.
