Strong thunderstorms occurred over the western sections of Puerto Rico during the afternoon. The areas most affected were San German and Hormigueros where Emergency Managers indicated several streets covered by water and a house flooded due to poor drainage.

INDICATED HIGH MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY WITH A PRECIPITABLE WATER OF
2.08 AND K INDEX OF 37. SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWED SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS JUST EAST AND
NORTH OF PUERTO RICO...IN THE VICINITY OF ST THOMAS AND ST JOHN AND
OVER EASTERN SECTIONS OF PR. THIS ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH A UPPER
TO MID LEVEL TROUGH ACROSS THE AREA AND AMPLE LOW LEVEL MOISTURE.
DAYTIME HEATING AND SEA BREEZE CONVERGENCE WILL CAUSE ADDITIONAL
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE INLAND AND WEST SECTIONS OF PR
FOR THIS AFTERNOON. AS THE AVERAGE WIND AT LOW TO MIDDLE LEVELS IS
MAINLY LIGHT THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE LITTLE AND THE POTENTIAL
FOR FLOODING WILL BE HIGH.
