Thunderstorms dumped heavy rains on the eastern and southern sections of county. A television station located just southeast of Erie measured 4.02 inches of rainfall during the storm. Flooding occurred near the intersection of I-90 and State Route 97 where several vehicles became stranded in two to three feet of water. Further south, 4.59 inches of rainfall was measured at Edinboro. Many small streams left their banks in southern Erie County. Several roads near Edinboro and Waterford were closed due to flooding.
