Showers and thunderstorms associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Allison dropped heavy rain across Morris County, particularly the eastern half of the county during the early morning of the 17th. Nearly three inches of rain fell in one hour between 245 a.m. EDT and 345 a.m. EDT. The torrential downpours led to small stream flooding as well as urban and poor drainage flooding. Because the downpours fell early on a Sunday morning, no serious injuries were reported. Storm totals included 5.61 inches in Lincoln Park, 5.27 inches in Chatham and 4.55 inches in Pequannock.

HRS AND SO APPEARS ADVANCING MID LVL TROF HAS JUST CAUGHT IT. WILL
DISCARD THE ETA. COLD FRONT EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH THE FA TODAY
AND HELP LIFT THE SYSTEM NE ALONG OR JUST E OF NJ COASTLINE AND THEN
INTO NEW ENGLAND. WILL EXTEND THE FFA THROUGH THE AM HOURS...AND
PUSH IT A LTL FURTHER E. IF MORE BANDING OCCURS BEFORE SYSTEM PASSES
AND COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH...MAY BE MORE FLOODING. THEN DRY FCST
THROUGH MON NIGHT AT LEAST. PUSHED SOME TEMPS DOWN TODAY A LTL WITH
