WESTERN NEVADA AND EASTERN CALIFORNIA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RENO NV 245 PM PST MON FEB 12 2001 UPPER LOW REMAINS WELL OFF SHORE THIS AFTERNOON. APPEARS A DEFORMATION AXIS WAS FORMING FROM RENO SOUTH WITH SOME INFLUENCE OF THE UPPER LOW OVER MONO COUNTY SOUTH. WILL KEEP A FEW FLURRIES IN THE FORECAST FOR THIS EVENING BUT IT APPEARS THE UPPER LOW WILL BE WELL SOUTH OF THE AREA ON TUESDAY AS THE RIDGE TO THE NORTH BUILDS OVER THE AREA. EFFECT OF WRAP AROUND MOISTURE INTO THE EAST SIDE OF THE SIERRA WILL BE MINIMAL SO WILL DROP MENTION OF SNOW FROM TUESDAY FORECAST. MOST ALL FORECAST SOMEWHAT OF A DIRTY RIDGE BUT NO DYNAMICS OR VERT MOTION SO PRECIP SHOULD BE VERY LIMITED THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. EXTENDED FORECAST MODELS SEEM TO BE FLIP FLOPPING FOR THE WEEKEND. MOST RECENT MRF SOLUTION WOULD SUGGEST A WX SYSTEM MOVING INTO THE SIERRA ON SATURDAY AND SPREADING INTO WESTERN NEVADA SUNDAY. WILL GO WITH THAT FOR NOW BUT CONFIDENCE IS LOW. .REV...NONE.
