AVN HAS THE BETTER SOLUTION WITH RH FIELD AND 500 MB ENERGY AND WILL GO
WITH IT FOR THIS FORECAST PACKAGE. AVN BRINGS IN A SHORT WAVE CURRENTLY
OVER SOUTHWEST IDAHO AND WESTERN WYOMING BY 0Z INTO BILLINGS WESTERN
FORECAST AREA. THIS ENERGY COMBINED WITH DECENT OMEGA AND MID LEVEL
MOISTURE...WILL PRODUCE SCATTERED HIGH BASE THUNDERSTORMS. THIS AREA
OF STORMS WILL PROGRESS NORTHEAST THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH SOUTHEAST
MONTANA REMAINING DRY. HEIGHTS BEGIN FALLING OVER THE AREA ON SATURDAY
AS UPPER TROF BEGINS PUSHING EASTWARD. SHORT WAVE ENERGY ASSOCIATED WITH
THE TROF WILL BRING SCATTERED MAINLY DRY THUNDERSTORMS TO THE ENTIRE
FORECAST AREA ALONG WITH SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES. WILL HAVE
RED FLAG WARNING OUT DUE TO DRY LIGHTNING FOR CENTRAL AND WESTERN ZONES.
RIDGE WILL BEGIN REBUILDING OVER THE AREA SUNDAY AS TROF MOVES EAST.
RISING HEIGHTS WILL ALLOW FOR SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES SUNDAY. WILL
CONTINUE TO KEEP ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST FOR SUNDAY AS
AVN BRINGS WEAK SHORT WAVE ENERGY THROUGH SOUTHERN MONTANA. RICHMOND

MODELS SIMILAR KEEPING A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER WYOMING
THROUGH TUESDAY THAT WILL KEEP HOT CONDITIONS ACROSS CWA. THUNDERSTORMS
WILL BE CAPPED OVER THE AREA FOR DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH TUESDAY. AN
UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER TOP OF THE RIDGE WEDNESDAY ALLOWING A
COLD FRONT TO MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHERN ROCKIES THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
BRINGING MORE SEASONAL TEMPERATURES. THE AIRMASS WILL NOT BE AS CAPPED
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY THEREFORE THUNDERSTORMS CAN BE EXPECTED BOTH DAYS.
