AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DULUTH MN 900 PM CDT WED JUL 18 2001 WILL HOLD OFF A LITTLE ON EVENING UPDATE DUE TO POTENTIAL WATCH REPLACEMENT OVER NORTHERN MINNESOTA BY 10 PM. THE STORMS HAVE BEEN SLOW TO MOVE IN DURING THE EVENING...BUT HAVE BEGUN TO PUSH EASTWARD INTO FAR NORTHERN KOOCHICHING COUNTY. SHOULD BE A LOT OF ACTION UP THERE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENING...WITH THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY PUSHING INTO THE REST OF NE MN VERY SLOWLY. MAY PUSH BACK THE TIMING OF SOME OF THE STORMS IN THE EVENING UPDATE. LOOKS LIKE THE MAIN ACTION WILL MOVE INTO NC/NE MN AND MAY ARC INTO NW WI LATER IN THE NIGHT AS A SEVERE MCS DEVELOPS. WIND DAMAGE AND LARGE HAIL APPEAR TO BE THE MAIN THREAT OVERNIGHT. .DLH...NONE. DAP
