Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall moved through the western portion of Allegany County between 2 and 5 PM EDT on the 4th. Heavy rain the day before had saturated the soil and weakened the root support of trees. When heavy rain fell again on the 4th, a few trees were pushed over onto roads in the Claresville area. Runoff also washed debris onto roads in the Vale Summit and Claresville areas.
