The coastal storm that brought heavy snow to much of western Maine dropped 2 to 5 inches of rain in the southwestern part of the state. Small rivers and streams overflowed their banks resulting in flooded roads and washouts.

The coastal storm that brought heavy snow to much of western Maine dropped 2 to 5 inches of rain in the southwestern part of the state. Small rivers and streams overflowed their banks resulting in flooded roads and washouts. Melting snow also contributed to the runoff problem. Many basements were reported flooded.
