Warm unstable air riding northward over this boundary, helped several rounds of strong thunderstorms form over Southeast Iowa, Northeast Missouri, and Northwest Illinois.

Event Summary for 10/21/01:On the evening of October 21, a strong warm front extended east along the Iowa and Missouri border, through Central Illinois. Warm unstable air riding northward over this boundary, helped several rounds of strong thunderstorms form over Southeast Iowa, Northeast Missouri, and Northwest Illinois. These storms produced numerous reports of urban flooding, as well as a few isolated reports of severe hail.
